Halloween

Dylan and I didn't do much for Halloween but just looking at his cute face in these pictures is worth the blog post. He was Bumblebee from Transformers and he sure loved showing off his muscles! Every time I would say, "Dylan show me your muscles" he would squeeze his fists together as hard as he could and turn bright red. I'm surprised he didn't have a hernia from pushing so hard!

Nursing School

I am back in nursing school and I am so happy!!! I love my clinical group this semester, they are super fun. We all make fun of each other and it makes for good laughs. We were at the VA and we met some really amazing men. I loved getting to know the veterans and hear their stories. My favorite memory of the VA was a patient cussing at his wife and flirting with me in the same sentence....AWKWARD!! Nursing school is a good distraction from what is going on in life right now and I am so glad that I was part of a group that brought a smile to my face every day :-)

Please press pause!!

I really would like it if I could press pause on life right now. Dylan is at such a fun age and every day he surprises me with his little comments. He says, "I'm ready to go" and "eda eda wow wow" which I think means, "Look at the dog", but who knows. His favorite thing to do is look for "wow wows" (dogs) and stick his tongue out at them. My sister-in-law Martha taught him to spank the dogs and say andale, which is so funny! He also loves fish and gallos (roosters). He has a betta fish named Ralphie and every morning he has to feed him and kiss the bowl.

I also want to press pause because Ger, Dylan, and I have been able to spend so much time together this summer. Dylan and I are going back to Utah in a couple of weeks and we won't be back with Ger until Christmas:( Ger and I have learned to enjoy the simple things in life, I think our marriage, and our lives are going to be better because of this experience.

Summer in Me-hi-co

A lot has happened in these last few months!! Dylan is talking more and more every day. He loves "wow-wows" and his favorite phrase is, "I wanna read a book". Gerardo has been working in Mexico with his brother Javier doing construction jobs for a variety of people. I have been busy with my online classes and chasing Dylan around. He falls a lot more here in Mexico and since the floors are all concrete, he kinda looks abused:( Dylan and I are here in Mexico until mid-August and we are soaking up every minute that we can together as a family.

Gerardo and I are still hoping that the 10 year ban law will change so that he can come back to the U.S. the right way.

My mom came with us to Mexico and she stayed with us for a week and a half. While she was here, it was so funny to see how many people would give us double-takes. We stand out here A LOT!! There are no tourists and there is no diversity here in Zamora, Michoacan. I love it though!

Some days are more entertaining than others. On the days that Ger doesn't work, I don't usually do any homework. I occupy my time by plucking his eyebrows or painting his toenials (shhh don't tell him I told you). We also go to my brother in laws house and watch my cute nephew Jesus dance like Michael Jackson.

Our favorite thing to do is walk to the mercado and buy chongos or macaroons, which are both delicious treats. I don't see how I haven't gained 50 pouds since I got here. All we do is eat!!

I love being here and I am so glad that I have the freedom to travel to and from Mexico to see Ger. It definitely has been an adjustment to get used to the way we live here, but being with my family is the only thing that matters to me.
